Awakened Doing
SOCIAL STUDIES
Awakened Doing
As stated by Eckart Tolle, "Sometimes the key to life is in just accepting what is for
what is."
Not trying to change it, just going with it as it is.
Acceptance is to be in inner acceptance of what you have to do.
You may not be able to enjoy it, but you can bring acceptance
to it. Peace flows into it. It is much more likely, by the
way, that help comes in when what you are doing is done while
you are in a state of inner peace, rather than resistance.
The second is enjoyment. You are one with the present moment,
and you enjoy even relatively insignificant or routine
things. You enjoy looking at a tree. The branches are moving
in the wind and the clouds are passing. It’s enjoyable.
As you enjoy the simple things: dusting the table, preparing a cup of tea, you still can be present even as you do routine things. Enthusiasm, the third modality of awakened doing, is when the universe creates through you. You are involved in a creative act. You are bringing something new into this world. When that energy comes in, you feel an intense aliveness that flows into what you do. That is enthusiasm. At Sacred Artist Within we aspire to spark each students enthusiasm and take that as far as we can go with it. We believe that it is this fire that will be the guiding force leading the direction of each life.

ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS
We will delve into the belief systems of some of the greatest
ancient civilizations that ever existed including Greece,
Egypt, Rome, India, China and Babylonia.
Each civilization had unique qualities specific to its
culture and time period.
Some of the most mystical traditions stemed from these
cultures.
As we are entering into a new dawn in the history of man it is
important to know where we came from, what other
civilizations did before and what worked for them.
COMMUNITY AND EDUCATION
We will teach key concepts in community building, including
the basic premise of team work and group cooperation.
Children will learn that they can thrive in group learning
where there is strength in numbers and it takes a village to
raise a competant culture.
We need the support of a community in order to thrive in today's time.
We need the support of a community in order to thrive in today's time.
Culturally we will study different individuals and how they care for
their parents and grandparents.
How do we care for ourselves and others?
We will cover the concept of personal pride. Pride and
responsibility (for one's actions) include
the need to speak up and not be apathetic. Sudents will
recognize appropriate speech
at the appropriate time -
Voices to be heard and the importance of one's voice.
We offer leadership training along with team building, in
order to introduce the children to the world as it works
socially.
ECOLOGY
Environments and effects is another Social Studies
class that we will be offering. This is a very popular subject
lately and is being taught extensively as we are trying very
hard to preserve the quality of life here on Earth.
Since our Core Values include appreciation and gratitude we
will be doing extensive practice that helps children
understand and feel the interconnectedness of all things including our Planet, our
Oceans and our Selves.
